👉 What you need to work as a Children and Young People Mental Health Nurse 

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mental Health Nursing 

  • Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse 

  • Clinical experience in paediatric nursing 

  • Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration and  

  • Up to date DBS check 

 ✔ What You'll Do: 

  • Assess individuals' needs for mental health services quickly and effectively. 

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments. 

  • Refer to other clinicians and services as required. 

  • Act as a gatekeeper according to established procedures. 

  • Provide leadership in the team leader's absence. 

  • Deliver interventions to meet the needs of those experiencing mental health crises. 

  • Develop relationships and offer expert advice to other services and carers. 

  • Contribute to local and national strategies for service improvement. 

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development.
